Today’s boiler systems are extremely efficient, versatile, and compact. These units are designed to provide heat for central air, under floor heat, radiator heat, and domestic hot water usage, and at efficiencies above 95%. The controls are tailored to correspond with outdoor temperatures for maximum comfort and efficiency. However the term “boiler” is a misnomer, since they do not actually boil water, and are not compatible with steam systems. They are the easiest to maintain differing zone temperatures, which makes them an effective choice for many applications.
Here is a wall mount boiler that is connected for under floor heat, and domestic hot water. The gray box on the right is the boiler, and the tank on the left is the water heater.
